Hi! I’m Rachel, and I’m a UX/UI Designer in Los Angeles. My services include user experience design, strategy development, and content writing. I set companies up for success by designing solutions that strike the right balance between business goals and user needs.
Understand what we’re trying to solve, who we are solving it for, why we’re trying to solve it, where the current status is, and when the solution should be implemented. Interviews uncover objectives and user research aids in persona development.
Determine how we’re going to solve the problem. Competitive and comparative analysis reveal how others have solved the problem while insights from user research activities lay the foundation for the design.
Translate the abstract into concrete visual designs. I sketch various solutions and convert them into low fidelity prototypes. I test my ideas with users to gather feedback. I cycle through this process until we agree to move forward to visual design.
Prepare my high fidelity comps for the development team. I provide a style guide, annotated mockups with CSS, and videos demonstrating microinteractions to effectively communicate my designs.
Gemma is an online retailer that sells apparel, accessories, and shoes for women. This concept brand has a mobile responsive website, but several of its competitors had recently released mobile apps. The solution was to design an ecommerce app to stay competitive and top of mind.
Turnkey Websites offers turnkey business solutions for professionals in the pet industry. One of their offerings is a content management system that allows business owners to create and manage their websites. In my role as UX/UI Designer, I conducted user research and redesigned the CMS to be modern and intuitive.
BoutiqueHomes is a vacation home rental company. To stand out from the competition, one initiative was to allow property owners to list their accommodations under a single listing. In collaboration with the founder and developers, I redesigned the CMS.
